Secretary of Health and Human Services appointment and rescinding conscience clauses

Secretary of Health and Human Services
President Obama has chosen an extreme pro-abortionist as head of the Department of Health and Human Services. Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius has a long history of being pro-abortion in her role as governor. She joins other appointees in the Obama administration who are also very pro-abortion. They are Dawn Johnson, former Legal Director of NARAL who has been named Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Council; Eileen Moran, former Executive Director of the pro-abortion EMILY’S list, now White House Communications Director; and Melody Barnes, Obama’s domestic policy advisor, previously on the board of both EMILY’s list and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

Obama's anti-life policies
Expected in the near future is a decision by President Obama to reverse the current policy on use of embryonic stem cells and to overturn the policy that gave hospitals and doctors a conscience clause, which allowed them to not participate in abortions. Many doctors will lose their positions in hospitals for refusing to do abortions. Many will quit their private practices. Medical students may change careers. It would appear the word “choice” only is used in support of abortion. The Christian Legal Society and the Alliance Defense Fund are fighting pro-abortion lawsuits from Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, and our president’s desire to have abortion available to everyone at all times for any reason, and yes, using our tax dollars.

Abortion and Slavery: History Repeats

By J.C. Willke, MD

Ever since the Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton decisions on abortion by the US Supreme Court in 1973, spokesmen for the Right-to-Life movement have been comparing the abortion issue to slavery. They have pointed to the core analogy of legal personhood for black Americans then, and of unborn Americans today. more »
